This homeowner in Mapleton, Utah had recently completed construction on a beautiful custom home featuring large picture windows and expansive views of Utah Valley. While they loved the natural light and scenery, they wanted greater daytime privacy without covering their windows with blinds or curtains.
In addition to privacy, the homeowner was looking to reduce solar heat gain and glare throughout the home, particularly on the south- and west-facing elevations where the sun is most intense.
To achieve their goals, we installed two different LLumar Vista dual-reflective window films. On the rear of the home, which receives significant southern and western sun exposure, we installed Vista Luminance V28 SR CDF. This dual-reflective film provides excellent daytime privacy while preserving clear views to the outside. It rejects up to 64% of solar energy and reduces glare by 67%, helping create a more comfortable indoor environment year-round.
On the front of the home, we installed Vista Celeste V18 SR CDF. Because these windows face the street, the homeowner wanted additional privacy. V18 offers a slightly darker appearance and higher exterior reflectivity than V28, making it an excellent choice for increasing daytime privacy while maintaining visibility from the inside looking out.
This customer chose to tint every window in the home, creating a consistent appearance while maximizing comfort, privacy, and energy efficiency. In addition to reducing heat and glare, dual-reflective window films can significantly lower cooling demands during warmer months, helping homeowners reduce energy consumption and offset a portion of their investment over time.
